# Creating a Service Request

Service Requests are created when work needs to be performed in the field to address [Events](/user-guide/modules/events.md).  Service Requests are then sent to your preferred O\&M provider to get any issues related to the Events resolved. A Service Request contains all the information that an O\&M provider will need to get the onsite job completed.
